Each of us must concern ourselves with the economic vitality of our region. Industry has left our area for a number of reasons and decreased the number of jobs, while neighborhoods deteriorated. It became a spiral, not as bad as many cities and regions, but still troublesome for our economy and quality of life.

We can’t build walls around our challenged neighborhoods and pretend they don’t exist. We need them to be viable contributors to our region. Learn more about how our local economic development corporations are improving these neighborhoods.
